71Bear and Outsider have said that 59er Insider, which was built by one of the original sport fan website creators, is not representative of kal fan thought, so I have been looking in on the 59er Territory substitute as necessary the Scout site. There's not as much traffic there, but aside from Blueblood, most of the posters seem sane. I like looking in on our rival's fans to get a perspective on their thoughts about their team and developments, as well as their thoughts about us. Maybe it's a better place to get a pulse of the average Kal fan.

I'm dubious of any group claiming to be "the true fans." Let's face it, fanbases are pretty fragmented. In my experience with Ca.l fans, the interactions reflect the personalities I see on BearInsider. But CGB appears to have the highest volume of fan traffic and discussion, so they may be more representative.
For pure entertainment, I enjoy perusing the discussions at BearInsider more than others I've seen to get a feel for what's the neurosis of the day in Ca.l fandom.

A number of the posters at the .net site are former regulars at the Insider site. They were ostracized because they dared to question the orthodoxy espoused by the thin-skinned people in charge...
In essence, once Grey ceded oversight to others, things went to hell in a hurry....
Personally, I thought there was room for many viewpoints on these kinds of websites. Evidently, I was wrong...

It might depend on WHAT was being said.Â
Were folks being banned for dissenting viewpoints, negative appraisals and bucking the status quo or were they being banned for personal attacks on other posters? I used see a lot of vicious Ad Hominem attacks on other boards that can lower the overall quality and my interest level very quickly.
It is a quirky call if the birthplace of the free speech movement is banning people for dissenting views!
