Hope everything is ok :(
He is a special offensive lineman, but real life is always a priority over football.
Garnett is his back-up on the depth chart.

Apparently Garnett will start in place of Yankey. Great opportunity for him to learn.

Oh no, I hope it's nothing too bad for him.
Also, I was never particularly worried about this game before, but now I am a little. Hopefully Garnett can fill those big shoes.

All for one, one for all. I think the Farm Boys can pull out a win for Yankey. Maybe we'll do a Yankey chant this weekend.

I hope the best for Yankey. I am assuming it is a family illness from the reports but who knows.
This is not good juju for the WSU game. We are out one preseason All-American for the entire game and the only other preseason All-American for the first half. We have good depth at both positions so I like our chances of coming through with a win.

My guess is that we win, but that we don't look like a million bucks for four straight quarters, so some fans won't be happy.

Hope the best for Yankey and his family.
I agree that this is a wonderful opportunity for Garnett to shine in front of his home town crowd. Regarding WSU, I think Leach is a very good coach who knows how to get his team psyched for important games. This one is big for WSU, and like everyone else, they will give us their best shot.Â
The 4th quarter let down of last week will give the coaches and the team some things to work on. I'll be curious to see what happens if we win the toss.  I expect Shaw to stick with what he has usually done and take the ball and pound the rock. Hopefully not X straight dive plays this time around.  Can we get a TE or two into the mix on the receiving side?!  We are going to need their hands at some point. Looking forward to another battle.Â

"David Yankey's father was 54 when he passed away last Tuesday. That happens to be his son's jersey number."

I can only imagine how David and his family are feeling. Prayers and loads of love for him and those who are grieving this loss.

Stanford stepped up just fine without Yankey and Reynolds in the first half...who knew WSU was that bad? But credit the defense with 14 pts and giving the offense chances to score as well.
Best wishes to Yankey and his family. Don't want to get ahead of the season, but here's hoping for a superlative season to ease the pain.
