Odd question re QB arm gesture... - estephan500 - 09-28-2013

Question here for football heads. There is that arm gesture that QBs make from behind center where they stick their elbows outward, forearms back in, and then hands pointing outward. Strange bird flapping look. You see QBs doing this a lot in highlight reels on TV. What does that sign indicate? It's not the "kill" sign is it?

That is the "kill" play signal...in our offense that means the 2nd play called in the huddle. We typically call three possible plays in the huddle.

Cool info

-- is that's same gesture used by other teams? I realize I can't recall if I've seen it

Wonder what the phrase or gesture is to switch to the 3rd possible play

Some other teams do use that same signal but I think that is just coincidence. The third play gesture or call completely escapes me right now...I will look for it while reviewing the WSU game.
