Some weeks half of the Pac-12 games have started after 10:00PM ET.  ESPN wants programming after the prime time SEC game.  It is probably not ideal, but the middle of the day is loaded with other football contests, so at least the Pac-12 owns the night slots.

How cold does it get in SLC by 8PM MT in mid-Oct?  I think the Pac-12 is really unique because the teams in this conference need to play in all kinds of climates and elevations.  (Rain, intense heat, elevation, etc.)

Utah is already getting snow on the mountains around campus, expect it to be cold that night.

I was hoping UCLA at Stanford would be the Saturday Night ABC game, but it seems like a lock that Florida State at Clemson will be selected for that slot instead, though it's possible ABC does two at once, regionally.  With Oregon being a Thursday night game, the Notre Dame game could be the only remaining full national (non-cable) broadcast of Stanford this regular season.  That would be unfortunate.  Then again, maybe the UCLA game will get on FOX like the ASU game did.  Gus Johnson and Charles Davis are a great announcing team at least, and Davis does have Stanford ranked #2 on his AP ballot.
