My daughter and son-in-law (both '04) and I plan to watch the game this Saturday at the Blind Pelican, 1628 St. Charles Avenue New Orleans. Kickoff at 9:30. Hope any Cardboarders in the Big Easy can join us.

How's the Stanford/New Orleans alumni chapter doing these days? If no one else is organizing game-watching parties, it's not a whole lot more trouble to publicize this sort of low-key gathering to the Stanford/New Orleans email list :)Â
I did not see a Stanford/New Orleans viewing party for this weekend on the alumni club website, btw.

The Stanford Club of New Orleans is dormant. Two loyal alums still hold a freshman sendoff at their home every year but that's the only organized activity of late.
I organized some viewing parties several years ago and have a small nucleus to start again. Unfortunately I no longer have access to an email list of local alumni. I'll take advantage of the Alumni Association Events listing to spread the word going forward.

A few friends of mine are in NOLA this weekend for the Ultimate Lindy Hop Championships--I'm not nearly good enough to go (lindy hop is a form of swing dancing), but I'm in Austin for the near future. I'll definitely ping you if I'm over there.Â
You are eminently qualified to become a Stanford/NOLA club leader and organize regular game-watching parties. Once you're a club leader, you get access to the stanfordalumni.org web tools and email lists. It's a little more overhead to deal with club communications, but it's the only way to get that access. Let me know if you're interested or have questions.

Well the CardBoard posting brought out a member from Baton Rouge along with four of his friends, so we had eight people for the game last night. That's a start. We may have converted a few other patrons during the game as well!Â
Got some congratulations from some LSU fans. They really admire Stanford's style of football. Of course, they also think they could beat us head-to-head. Perhaps we'll get a chance to find out as the season unfolds, but that's a pretty remote possibility right now.
