I know it probably doesn't do much to soothe the pain, but this was Utah's signature victory. This win was our biggest, by far, since the Utes beat Bama in the Sugar Bowl. That says a lot about Stanford, and I'm so glad this game is now in the rearview. I will be pulling for Stanford to win the North this season as Shaw and the entire team exude class, while playing hard nosed football.

I also can promise you that the sting from this loss will fade as the season goes on. Utah is a good team, and will be in the thick of the PAC12 championship race next season. Stanford did not get caught off guard by a weak team having a stellar day. UCLA was an aberration for the Utes, and as the year unfolds people will see that the Cardinal lost to a very respectable team. Does this hurt your national championship aspirations? Possibly, but who knows how things will play out. All I know is that I'll be rooting for you from here on out. Unless, of course, we meet again in the conference championship game (not holding my breath on that one).
