Does anyone know anything about the redshirt freshman replacement?  I wasn't sure if we could even anticipate him connecting on 25 yard field goals.

There are some high school highlight videos on Conrad Ukropina on YouTube but I couldn't get the link to show.  Try to Google "YouTube Conrad Ukropina".

I met some of his family at the Army game.  His uncle Jim Ukropina played tight end for Stanford.

And here's a feel good article on how he went from quarterback to kicker and chose to walk on at Stanford instead of playing for Harvard:  http://stanford.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1364773

If it's next man up I think he'll do well.

Geaux Cardinal!

Those paying close attention would have noticed that Conrad Ukropina kicked the final PAT vs. WSU this year (after Barry Sanders' TD run).

I was not paying close attention at the time but noted it later in the box score.

I hope Pete Alamar has a fake FG play drawn up for this "converted QB" player...I mean, COME ON.  It'd be epic.  Usually it's the holder, but...a direct snap to kicker and resulting first down/touchdown?  Another ESPN top 10 highlight!

Re: More Bad News - CompSci87 - 10-24-2013

I forgot who, but someone had a cool fake field goal last weekend (?). The ball was snapped to the holder as normal. He placed it down, and the kicker ran up looking like he would kick it. But then the holder picked the ball right back up and handed off to the kicker, who ran it in for a TD. All very smooth.

Probably Vanderbilt?  I heard they did something like that to beat Georgia.
