From what I can tell, Stanford football lists the following seniors on the roster who could take a 5th year if they choose. I hope that some of them decide to come back. If not, I thank them all for their commitment over the past four years and wish them the best in whatever comes next. It's been a great ride!!

Okay, I'll take a swing.
NFL Draft: Reynolds, Tarpley, Yankey, maybe Fleming
Asked to return: Anderson, Dudchock, Hemschoot, Leuders, Parry, hopefully Fleming
Thanked for service: All the rest

I think Reynolds is closer to 50-50. He probably won't get a very good score from the draft board and could really help the team if he comes back.
Yankee probably goes but I won't be shocked if he stays.

Reynolds and Yankey both came out for Senior Day intros according to Lombardi's Twitter. No other players with eligibility remaining did.

Very telling.

Yankey is really the only one who looks NFL ready to me. Anderson maybe would have without the injury. Reynolds at best would be a late round pick. Fleming is the only other who I think could get NFL looks.

The fact Yankey can play Tackle as well as Guard probably means he projects as a first round pick. Garnett and Casper will likely come in and replace Danser and Yankey just fine.
Reynolds is another story. What does he have, one interception this season? He's been invisible most games. Richards has been markedly better. That said, there doesn't seem to be a good replacement option for Reynolds on the roster. Hoffpauir is not a FS. Perhaps Lyons will move to FS?

This is sort of outside the scope here, but what's the deal with everyone majoring in STS? I don't remember anything about that during my time at Stanford, but clearly it's popular. Is it a relatively light load?

That would be my guess.

It is not a very common curriculum. According to wikipedia there are about 24 schools in the world that have it. I can't imagine there being a high demand for graduates in the real world.

I don't know, Reynolds always looked pretty chiseled to me... :D

STS, Sociology and Communications were common "jock majors" during my time at Stanford. Don't think I knew of a single non-athlete STS major.

I think I might be confusing STS with SymSys. I'm not sure I knew any STS majors (though I knew relatively few athletes). It just seemed like STS was a bit oddly dominant yesterday, I don't remember it being so popular in past years.

Yeah, STS was pretty common amongst football players when I was in school as well. Think I knew one non-athlete STS major.

I have wondered if Dallas Lloyd might do a position switch, especially if Ryan Burns moves into second or third string. Possibly to safety?

Could be. I doubt they're going to let him take another snap at QB after all those fumbles.
Re: Seniors - pincemob - 12-01-2013
I will cast a vote for our punter, Ben Rhyne. While admittedly I have no idea who else might be lurking at that position I'd be happy to see him punting (and holding?) again next year. 42 yards with a 38 net is pretty good, isn't it?Â

Well, both of them were in the red zone, and he's fumbling on approximately 33% of his touches, so I can understand some sensitivity on that point.

Agree on Ben Rhyne. He really stepped up. He also made some tough catches holding the ball in the Oregon game.
I'm also really happy for Dudchock. He got some action his Freshman year when Harbaugh was coaching, and then nothing until this year. He catches everything and runs well.

I thought it was more than two, but as WIM points out 1/3 is quite the terrible ratio. And I don't want anything in particular, I just don't think that he's ever going to move up the depth chart, so it might mike sense to see if he fits somewhere else better.
