What does our 2014 schedule look like? -

I can't seem to find anything online except that we play @ ND and vs Army

I believe our first game in 2014 will be in Pasadena...

Our conference opponents should be the same as this season, but with home field flipped. I don't think the conference office has released the dates of the conference schedule.Â
I'm more curious about our third and final out-of-conference game for 2014. The UCDavis Aggies list us on their schedule, but we don't reciprocate. Perhaps we have a deal in place with them but hope to replace them with some other team?

Yeah, I'm speculating that Aggies may be a placeholder, with the possibility of one of those one-off neutral site extravaganzas against some ranked team as a replacement.

I don't know about anyone else, but I am begging and praying for this. I want one of those marquee matchups so bad. Especially to start the playoffs off right.

Stanford will only play 4 conference home games next year plus Army. Wouldn't you want the 3rd non-conference game to be at Stanford, both for competitive and financial reasons?

OK, a high profile game would be fun and more exciting than UC Davis. However, Stanford's SOS will not need that boost really. The schedule in 2013 was tough, but 2014 even with UC Davis will be much tougher. A one loss Stanford team as a Pac-12 champ will get into the playoffs even if UC Davis is on the schedule. However a two loss Stanford team will NOT get into the playoffs even if one of the losses was at this neutral site super team game.
Therefore, it seems to me that there is too much to lose and very little to gain.

If that home game has to be Davis, then no. I hate playing FCS teams. If it's like Fresno State, then whatever. And I think some of those neutral-location games pay pretty well, though I obviously don't know how it would compare to a home game.

I'd like a home-and-home with Alabama.

They would be too chicken to schedule that.

Maybe, maybe not. Saban has made a lot of public comments about needing to up their SOS, so I think he'd actually be amenable to something that seems crazy in the BCS era. I think it's more likely that he'd want a one-off neutral site location, but I wouldn't totally rule out a home-and-home. LSU traveled to West Virginia a few years ago! Not as far, but not meaningfully closer, really.

In the past 34 years, Alabama has traveled outside of the eastern time zone for a true road game (i.e., not a neutral site game) exactly twice. 2002 at Oklahoma. They lost.
2000 at UCLA. They lost.
Before that, you have to go back to 1978.

Wow, at UCLA? Anyway, I wanted to point out that Tuscaloosa is on Central Time.
