Shayne and Patrick's mother - yvonne - 12-12-2013

Shayne and Patrick Skov's mother passed away on Nov 26 following her long illness.  Judging from this obituary, I'd say she was quite a woman. http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/sfgate/obituary.aspx?page=lifestory&pid=168385671

May her memory be a blessing for them and for all who knew her.

Such sad news ... 50 is too young. Sounds like her children have an abundance of good memories to help them through this time.

brobdingnagian respect to her boys for not publicizing this.  They did have the College Gameday story about their mom, but didn't let on that she had passed away, or that they were using her death as some sort of inspiration.  Very cool to have the ESPN story done as a tribute and keep the sad news private.

Oh no :(

It wasn't unforeseen, but that never makes anything better.  Must have been hard to keep finals, bowl/conf title game practices, and family emotions all under control for the last few weeks.  I have no frame of reference.

The team, the team, the team.  And yet some on one of these Boards attacked Shayne for his tackle on Goff. Pissed me off.

Yup, and I was accused of using "picayune semantics" to defend Shayne's hit - definitely one of the most deprecating words used to diminish an argument I have seen in a while. It is now one of my favorites :)

Thanks, who ever that was...

Re: Shayne and Patrick's mother - FarmBoy - 12-15-2013

I don't think I "attacked Shayne", but I did say that I thought under the rules, it could/should have been called targeting. If a Kal LB had hit Hogan in the same way, I am pretty sure I would have said the refs missed one. Note, I'm not referring to the hit which sent Goff out of the game, rather the earlier one where Skov left his feet and appeared to lead with the crown of the helmet.
