Friday Night Lights Out -
fullmetal - 12-15-2013
It's a SI.com piece on Art Briles and his football strategy's ascension to national prominence. Included are a some interesting X's and O's tidbits and a couple of sentences on Lache Seastrunk's transition from Oregon transfer to Baylor bellcow.

Seems like Briles would be on the list for the Texas search committee.

Supposedly a lot of the Texas power brokers are snooty and don't want to hire a coach from Baylor. Just something I've heard a lot, though it seems unbelievable.

Briles is indeed on the short list, though he's a contentious option. Also, the talent at Texas is not entirely well-suited for his style of football...not yet at least. I would not mind seeing Texas football in that mold.
[edit]: Here's a great SB Nation longform piece on Art Briles's offense:
http://www.sbnation.com/college-football/2013/11/7/5073520/baylor-football-offense-art-briles-2013. It was published on Nov. 7th, so it's a little out of date, but most everything in there is spot-on.
