Wait until everyone receives their tickets tomorrow and Friday - the Ticket Office is sending them out yesterday and today by Fedex 2 day. All the extra tickets will hit the market soon thereafter.

I'd bet if you are patient you can get StubHub tickets for roughly face value by a day or two before the game. (The high demanders will have not chosen to travel to L.A.)

The lettered rows are supposedly really, really bad seats. Though I think face value is still low for a resale. I wonder if they just goofed entering their price.

I had an extra ticket for the 2000 Rose Bowl, one of the least attractive tickets in Rose Bowl history. (The market was perhaps partially depressed because some imagined the world would already have come to an end, or at the very least that the grid would've crashed, making it impossible to play the game.) Anyway, I brought the ticket to the game hoping to sell it, but found little interest. Finally I found someone who was looking to buy it for about $80 (it was $100 face value), but then another person showed up with a ticket to sell and we actually had a reverse bidding war, with each of us lowering our price until the other guy won out. It was possibly the most demeaning experience of my life.

So far, Stubhub prices are behaving exactly like last year (sucker-high prices initially then dropping in mid-December). The supply will significantly increase and prices will drop once people receive their paper tickets over the next couple of days. Last year, prices were at their low on December 23rd; Repeating, I think that the sweet spot to buy your Stubhub tix will be between December 20th through Christmas. Once the overnight delivery constraint slashes the Stubhub supply (last year on December 27th), prices will go up again.
Last year surprisingly, there was not much of a desperation sale in the last two days on Stubhub nor Craigslist.

Currently there are four seats together in row E of this section for $550 each. How many sell at that price is another matter.

I have to say that I'm disappointed that prices have hovered around $300. Given that prices were at their low on this day one year ago, that doesn't bode we'll for buyers this year. I feel slightly relieved that I'm out of the market this year as I'm spending extra holiday time with mom this year instead of attending the game.

I'm still holding out hope. My alternative is to cancel my flights for SWA credit, but I've already bought a tailgate ticket, and I think I really should try to make this happen...garvin, are you set for tickets as well now that Stubhub is somewhat sane?

Fullmetal, why not just splurge for tickets? After all, when you factor in airfare, hotel, etc., the incremental cost of scalped tickets as a percentage of total expense is justifiable.
