Where was James Vaughters? - OutsiderFan - 10-03-2011

I don't recall seeing Vaughters on the field against UCLA.  Did he play and I miss him, or did he not play?  If he didn't play, was that because Stanford wanted to play their bigger OLBs against UCLA's run-oriented attack?

I saw him play end a few times I believe.

I am pretty sure that I saw Vaughters on the field situationally, but I don't think I saw Browning. Terrence Brown seemed to be playing his corner.  I have not heard anything thing about an injury, and I think he is our most promising corner, so hopefully I just overlooked him or he got a bad order of take-out Friday night.

RM--

Posted in another thread.  Browning out with back spasms morning of the game; didn't sound lasting.

I saw an interview where Shaw said that Browning developed back spasms before the game.

On the bright side, Brown got a full game of experience.

I saw Vaughters on a few different plays. He was in on the goal-line stand in the first possession, so I doubt he's lost the esteem of his coaches.

One thing that may have taken away from his snaps: often we line up with a four-man front with a linebacker with his hand in the dirt. Usually that LB is Vaughters; against UCLA it was mostly Chase Thomas.
