Further coaching machinations - washingtonismoney - 01-08-2014

OK, follow the dominoes:

1. Michigan fires Al Borges, their offensive coordinator (Lurking Michigan State fans LOL)
2. They need a replacement
3. They contact....UCLA OC Noel Mazzone?
4. ?? (Coaching Search, "unlikely to leave for Ann Arbor.")

Doesn't that seem like a move down?  I would have thought that the only place an Alabama coordinator would go voluntarily would be a head coaching gig or the NFL.

Reportedly, Michigan is throwing a lot of money at him, but I would have thought he was making a lot of money in Alabama.

Well, as far as I can tell a lot of Tide fans (on the internet, at least) are happy he's gone. Which seems crazy to me, because Alabama has typically seemed sound, disciplined and good on offense when I've seen them. But then, you're supposed to be all those things when you have the Nick Saban machine recruiting and molding for you. If the Michigan offense turns around, no one's going to claim Brady Hoke's the Svengali orchestrating everything.
