Julia Maxwell (Cal/Powerbar legacy) to the Farm -
donkey687 - 02-07-2014
In another blow to Cal, the daughter of the late Brian Maxwell (Powerbar founder and long term Cal athletics donor), Julia Maxwell has committed to Stanford. She is one of the top distance runners in the country. She currently lives in Marin and attends Branson.

I guess they will have to change the name of Maxwell Family Field to Maxwell Family Field (less one)... ;)
Another UC/LSJU story...
My mother's cousin owned the dog after whom Ludwig's Fountain on Sproul Plaza was named. Her grandaughter recently graduated from Stanford (yes, her choice of college caused quite a stir in her family since both her mother and grandmother were UC grads).Â
I'm just glad that she had some great schools from which to choose.

I guess the Barbour landslide is sweeping through every sport. They can't even register outrage. Just enough energy to point the finger at Barbour and the head T&F coach.
I note this because as a LONG time observer of Bear Insider, they used to get really amped on the whole T&F / Maxwell thing. Abnormally amped. Now? (sound of crickets cheeping).

Unfortunately, that may not be the result of "the Barbour landslide," but a declining interest in athletics (aka track & field) in the U.S.
Btw, chicks cheep. Crickets chirp.

Doesn't that depend on what country you're from? I've heard Europeans tell me that Roosters sound more like "Kee-kee-ree-keee!" than "Cockadoodledoo!"

Cal T&F fans except for a few have given up in disgust. It is sad.Â
