Respect in central Florida - terry - 02-07-2014

The article linked below is from the Orlando Sentinel. It shows tremendous respect for Stanford football. The "top football, top academics" brand seems to be taking hold. You can't buy publicity like this.

That's why Thursday's offer from the Cardinal staff was met with such surprise and a certain amount of pride from Orlando First Academy tight end Garrett Williams.

He's had a lot of excitement with his recruiting process over the past eight months, with offers from schools like Florida State and Florida and Clemson, and even Alabama last week. But an offer from Stanford gave Williams that extra feeling of accomplishment.

Wlat and Buddy were 7 years ago now.  Current recruits were in elementary school when they were our coaches.  The odds that an elementary school kid in Orlando would have had any idea of our record then is exceedingly low.

Aaahh!  But the odds that a future Stanford student in elementary school in Orlando would have such knowledge would probably be significantly shorter.  ;D

I enjoyed the thorough list of other Central Florida players who were offered by Stanford, as well as what colleges (if any) they ended up playing for.
