Registration agreement - admin - 02-16-2014

For the first time in the history of the CardBoard, two posters had to be removed based on the first line of the registration agreement, which can be found here:

As the saying goes, "We can agree without being disagreeable." Harassment or abuse of other members, either on the board or in private messages will not be tolerated.

I must have missed something. What happened?

In addition to throwing invective around on the various WBB threads, the combatants continued the attacks on PM. It had been going on for several weeks.

Re: Registration agreement - Nan3cy - 02-16-2014

I tried to ignore the stuff flying around, but can't say I'll miss those two.

Re: Registration agreement - pefloresjr - 02-16-2014

Sorry that it had to come to that but I want to see the unique atmosphere on the Cardboard preserved.  Thanks for all of your hard work, Yvonne.

Cheers,
Pete F.

Now I'm curious what I missed while gallivanting around SF all day...

Send them to Thunderdome on the Bootboard - JohnR34231 - 02-17-2014

They'll get all they can handle (and then some) there.

Re: Registration agreement - terry - 02-17-2014

So who got banned?

Re: Registration agreement - yvonne - 02-17-2014

WAcard and BBGuru/SkipWankman

It's their loss.  Thanks Yvonne.

"Bouncing the rubble" to make important point - Redrum - 02-18-2014

If you want to know the difference between the Bootleg open (free) board and the Cardboard,  look no further than what just happened.  Depending on the vagaries of time and posters,  the Bootleg (and most collegiate free bulletin boards) resemble old timey saloons.  Periods of peaceful drinking and card playing, interspersed by occasional drunken brawling.  The Bootleg open boards sometime look like the inverse, periods of drunken brawling interspersed by occasional reasonable and interesting posts.  (In fairness, starting Thunderdome on the Bootleg raised the total noise volume, but got some of it moved to a back room where anything goes.)  Still, the Sheriff seldom seems to appear to clean things up.  It seems to be a cultural thing that, as I said, comes out when people are under the compulsion to rant or vent and have no stake in the larger community.  We do.

Thus endeth the self-congratulation for today.

Re: Registration agreement - chimera - 02-18-2014

I wish we had similar mod work on the women's hoops board over on The Bootleg.  We now have both BBGuru/SkipWankman pretending to be two different people.  I don't mind a barroom brawl where two strong opinions fight it out.  Deceptive trolling is another thing though.
