Tuned in late. Surprised there isn't a thread.

Lot of people saying this win gets Stanford into the Dance, which means garvin's prophecy is likely to turn true.

Best thing about the game: winning.
Second best thing about the game: Chasson Randle (seriously, can we get him 15 or 20 3-point attempts a game?)
Third best thing about the game: not having Bill Walton doing the play-by-play. Sadly, our next 3 games are on ESPN networks, so I suspect we haven't seen the last of him

Up a break. Still need to go at least 2-2 in the last 4. But this may buy Stanford the margin to not HAVE to split in Arizona.
Still hope they can get the split; it would be the first time they would finish above .500 in the conference on the road in the Dawkins era. Which you should be able to do with as experienced a team as they have.

I don't know why UCLA took Tony Parker out of the game. We couldn't stop him.Â
I'm happy with a win over UCLA in basketball any day, any year.

Regardless of the mixed feelings about Dawkins, I have no ambivalence about rooting for this team to win, especially for our seniors. Despite the frustrations, I would hate for their college careers to end without ever going to the Big Dance. The boys deserve the support in this last run. The team is showing some improvement (stupid turnovers be damned), and we are finally using some guys off the bench for more than 2 minute spurts. And hey, if we get into the Dance, who knows what might happen? It's a Jekyll/Hyde team for sure, but who isn't this year? Syracuse lost to 7-20 Boston College. There are no unbeatable teams in college basketball anymore. The one missing ingredient might be Ray Lewis pre-game speeches, so maybe that would be another use for Shaw's robot...

agree on the Parker substitution. it was a curious choice by Alford. I also wondered why our double team on him seemed to be so slow with Parker in the game

Half the game is D says Alford to Parker. Parker says OH?

Stanford's bench was yelling at the team to run at Parker every play. He did not look good on D.
