Apparently, Chase Thomas was no accident - Redrum - 11-05-2010

Kid was born to play football.   Nice story from....the Chron.  Maybe Crumpacker got sick of covering discombobulation in Strawberry Canyon and defected.

Chase has played well every time our defense has played well. If he starts getting sacks and making trouble tomorrow, we\'ll be in very good shape.

Quote:Tom Fitzgerald has proved a pleasant surprise as a Stanford beat reporter. I never read him all those years he was covering outdoors stuff because I regard nature as a sinister force of primitivism that should be crushed beneath the boot of civilization, then paved. But it turns out he\'s pretty good when he\'s not writing about amusing ferns and insects.
I didn\'t know Fitzgerald had an outdoorsy bent, but perhaps you\'re confusing him with Tom Stienstra, the lumberjackian hunting, fishing and hiking columnist whose forays into the woods have been recently revealed as pot-irrigation ventures.
