News from the Wasatch - 61_Shasta - 03-04-2014

@Martyup:  sorry, I didn't see your post until just now.  As Dabigv said the snowpack a few weeks back was pretty bad both in depth and quality.  However between now and then we have been in an unusually moist and warm flow which has brought steady rain to the valleys and quite a bit of snow to the mountains.  Mountains have consistently been getting 6-12" pretty much every day.  I looked at the report and both Alta and Snowbird have had about 300+ inches this year which isn't great but not bad either.

First news.  I just found out that Shayn Reilly's scan came back completely normal with no trace of cancer.  Now hopefully she can get back to being a normal 1-year old and hopefully her dad can get back to the process of transitioning from college to the NFL.  Trevor was at the combine but didn't run as he had surgery on his knee.  I'm just a touch worried about that.  I think I mentioned before that he played all of last year on a torn ACL.  The knee that he had surgery on is the same knee and the reports of what was done are pretty vague.  I hope he didn't cost himself money being loyal to the Utes last year.

Second news.  Moana Ofahengaue, the DL injured in a motorbike accident has been upgraded now to stable condition and is making great recovery strides.  He was on life support for nearly five days but has awoken and is breathing on his own.  No word on the extent of his injuries and no timetables for his release but still this is great news when talking about someone that wasn't sure of living through the night following his injury.

Thanks again for your friendship and kind thoughts.  Not sure what Stanford's timeline is but Utah opens spring ball on 03/18.  Looking forward to 11/15!
