Hey RR, just curious, you ever tune in to the Finebaum radio show?
I remember first hearing about this Pawwwwl Finebaum character a year ago, when he was championing Mark Ingram for the Voldemort and taking every opportunity to question the merits of anyone not from the ESS EEE SEE.
Then I was I was put onto the show from the constant references on EDSBS, and tuned in yesterday- it is one of the most entertaining 4 hours of radio around! Pretty much the entirety of the South blended together with a live alligator, a whole lot of whiskey, and something burning. It almost made me want to move down to Bama, so I can experience Chicken Dinner Winners, Jack\'s Chicken Fingers, Shane from Tuscaloooser, Tiny talking bout dem black chuuches annserin to no religion...it really sounds like a whole different world ripe for parody, and a little bit of me envies you RR for getting to experience it daily.
Daily Finebaum just a bit too much - Redrum - 11-06-2010
He is an institution and is infinitely more informed than, say, Ralph Barbieri on KNBR sports talk.
But the deal with Finebaum is you don\'t want him to get a bad attitude about you. Then you are toast. He has greased the skids on four coaches that I know of...all now ex-Bama coaches. Also did a number on the coach of a local HS that got featured for a whole season on cable TV a few years back. The coach was a little cornpone Napolean and really got off on his time in the spotlight, but when Finebaum got done with him you\'d be forgiven if you believed this HS pillar of success was a drunk, womanizing, self-promoting child molester. The first two were true, but Finebaum made sure everyone listening knew about it and didn\'t forget it.
In your abundant spare time read the Finebaum chapter in Warren St. James
Rammer Jammer Yellowhammer. I listen to Finebaum when I\'m driving just to get a break from Sean Hannity et al.
