OK, this is a very off topic thread, especially during the season. But...
Ever since Hulk's music thread introduced him to me, I've been a fan of Avicii (i'd heard Wake Me Up before, but never paid enough attention to me). One of his earlier tracks is called Levels (Technically Le7els):

I like the song, but especially at roughly the 1:20 mark, when the song samples Etta James' "Something's Got a Hold of Me"

A very different song, of course, but I like how Avicii sampled James. Turns out he's not the first nor the last to have done so:

BC good choices, sadly for me, after working personal protection on him in AZ for two shows, I cannot listen to his music without wanting to punch something. He ranks up there with Ted Nugent in terms of artists (I use that term loosely, he makes the tracks but live he presses play on an airbook) I will never work for again no matter the money.

Sorry, can you be clear which one of the three you are talking about (Avicii, Pretty Lights, or Flo Rida)? I assume Etta James (who I believe has passed away) is not who you are referring to.

The CARDboard is an online virtual version of one of my favorite things about Stanford: the dorm bull session. There are some people here with amazing knowledge and insight on all sorts of topics. I love the OT discussions and topic drift, but I can see how others dislike it. Does it makes sense to have a separate board for this OT stuff?

Avicii's tracks are mostly overplayed, but "Hey Brother" is a guilty pleasure of mine.
