Wayne Lyons and the secondary - needle - 09-03-2014

I thought Wayne Lyons played outstanding on Saturday, with a key pass deflection and a forced fumble. He's my candidate for most improved player this season.

Am I the only one who thinks Alex Carter not starting was more about coaches wanting to send a message to a very talented player than trying to figure out who's the best corner opposite Lyons?

I'm also thinking Zach Hoffpauir getting more time on the field is going to be a positive development.

USC put it up in the air 41 times against Fresno State. I'm thinking a couple of those are going to be caught by the Stanford secondary.

I thought Alex Carter had missed Spring Camp and the first week(s) of Summer with injury. Harris had worked his way into starting last week in his absence. Not sure it had anything to with sending Carter a message.

Yep you are probably the only one thinking that about Carter.

Hoffpauir may be in for 50 plays. Or more.
