The week in opponents' play: week 2 -

Washington State's offensive line can't stand up to the mighty Nevada Wolf Pack.

So, uh, Nevada is up 14-0 on WSU and is driving, has the ball around midfield...

Cougs on the verge of embarrassing themselves, conference majorly. 24-13 Nevada, 2:53 left in the game. Is it possible to coug two games considered collectively? That's what it looks like to me.

The cougs probably just aren't very good. It's fine, that likely makes WSU, Cal, and Colorado at the bottom of the conference. Most are significantly worse.

The good news is nothing WSU, Colorado, or Cal does can shame the conference, given the quality at the top and middle. In any case, it seems pretty clear Cal is better than the other two and at least has a legitimate squad this year, if not one with a winning record.

I think Michigan State will beat Oregon. Every time Oregon faces a disciplined hard nosed defense, they lose.

So, Eastern Washington is playing Washington close...and Colorado is down double-digits to UMass.

C.al has a winning streak going. 45-7 at beginning of 3d. Couldn't shut out Sac State.

UW could only beat Eastern Washington by 7.
MSU up on Oregon going into halftime.
N.D. tied with Michigan in the first quarter.
EDIT: probably the most worrying thing about the EWU game was UW's giving up 52. 52! to an FCS team!

Glad that Colorado was able to eke out a win against UMass. Hopefully Oregon can turn things around here. We're supposed to be the only team that can beat them at Autzen!
It can be done -

Michigan State has been in the red zone against the Ducks four times in the first half. The result? Three touchdowns and a field goal.

MSU up by 9 and look good.

Memphis up 14-13 against UCLA early in the second quarter. UCLA's tackling was pathetic in the Memphis drive I saw.
Re: The week in opponents' play: week 2 -

UCLA 28- Memphis 21. UCLA's scoring more about Memphis being terrible on defense than any inherent quality, I think: there was one 2nd-and-short play where the Memphis DBs were playing 15 yards off at least.
And UCLA's defense, well.

Memphis within one score in the fourth quarter.

Hundley throws a pick six and it's tied!

Oregon State is completely dominating Hawaii.Â
Oregon State is going to be a dangerous game for us.

Hawaii is truly terrible, I wouldn't read too much into a game against them.

True, Hawaii probably means about as much to them as D.avis meant to us, but Oregon State has played us close the last two years and I would expect more of the same.
