Things Fall Apart: Vandy Week 3 - washingtonismoney - 09-13-2014

UMass is up 14-0 on Mason. The natives are restless -- here's the pregame attendance:

As a (sort of) UMass employee, let me just say OUCH.  UMass is terrible--they made the jump to FBS 2 years ago and went 1-11 in their first two seasons with many blowout losses.

It's 14-7 now as I write this.  Maybe Mason can salvage this one.

Seems Mason:

1) started a true freshman QB, thus burning his redshirt
2) switched, mid-game, to another QB.

Their entire defense is very undisciplined. It has to be filled with inexperience because we know the coaches on the defensive side are quality coaches.

24-20 UMass at halftime.
Hopefully Mason can salvage this one to keep the wolves at bay for at least another week.

Is it possible Franklin left the cupboard this bare?

Mason pulls it out - JohnR34231 - 09-13-2014

34-31. Nice, because Vandy faces two ranked teams in the next three weeks and he was in serious jeopardy of starting the season 0-6 if he hadn't.

Re: Things Fall Apart: Vandy Week 3 - scorecard - 09-14-2014

Apparently Vanderbilt has started 3 different QBs in its 3 games, and has played 4 different QBs this year.  I wonder if Mason boiled over as much as some of us did during the Nunes/Nottingham/Hogan season.  He sure has been a lot quicker to pull the switch on a QB than Shaw.
