I wouldn't schedule Notre Dame any more. 11 on 11, I can take. 11 on 18, I can't.

Aren't these pac12 refs?

Yes, these are PAC refs.

Doesn't matter. We've been hosed too many times by refs at ND. Look at the article this a.m. either in Merc or Chron, can't recall which. Litany of ref garbage at ND over the years.

That may be part of the problem.

I don't follow
Re: However this game turns out -

Part of the problem is that it is pac-12 refs, who suck.

The real question is, what will be done about the hideous officiating by the Pac 12 crew?

But whatever the case, we didn't play well enough to win. We got outplayed. The team that played better won. They looked pretty good, honestly, and well prepared and coached.Â

I'm not convinced that the PAC12 refs are worse than other leagues. I've watched a few games that did not involve PAC12 teams. I thought the reffing was even worse.

I am not the only person who thinks Pac12 officiating is poor...

Maybe you aren't but nothing is going to get done about it. Why don't we recognize it for what it is? A sour grapes comment made by fans of a losing team.

Not sour grapes, just stating a fact.
Re: However this game turns out - Cardinal96 - 10-04-2014
We were out gained 370 yards to 205 yards. Hogan was off all night and we couldn't generate much of a running game. We were lucky it ended in a one-possession game. I felt we clearly deserved to lose (unlike the USC game).
If we aren't going to modify our offense around Hogan (and his clear limitations), I am fine giving Chryst or Burns a shot. Hogan has regressed this year and is not a good QB at the moment.

I feel like even if it's PAC-12 refs, they overcompensate the other way to appear fair. That trapped ball that didn't get overturned? Even the guys in the booth that are on the ND payroll thought that should have been overturned.

Chryst is not going to play this season so get over it. We were not a good team Luck's first year yet did not play him, even tho reports are he was the best QB on the team. Whether you agree, in retrospect, that was a good decision or bad, if Luck didn't play Chryst is not playing. Hogan is not worse than Pritchard was.Â

This summary is poetry. Captures the issues in six brief sentences.

Refs didn't make Lyons blow two coverages on that drive. Refs didn't make Ty and Cajuste drop multiple balls all game. Refs didn't make Hogan play poorly all day. Were there some calls against us? Sure, that happens every game. We played like ass and we deserved to lose, don't try to blame the refs.

Those referees saved the Domers' bacon so many times that we were bound to make a mistake at some point in those drives, I think. If the Domers can do no wrong, then Stanford remains the only fallible team on the field...
