If you want to get over the bellyaching, tune into Pac-12 networks. You will see:
1) the finishing touches of Oregon State routing the 59ers 6-2 in soccer.
2) And then Stanford take on Washington.

Game's started, though the director does not seem to understand that soccer is a continuous game, and as such your long close-ups are really stupid (and distract from the live action).

Yep, the Pac-12 network producers are definitely not soccer-savants. I've noticed it about all of the women's games; they'll stick with some minor closeup shot while the game goes on unseen. The women gave up a goal in the game against UW on Friday that we missed the entire buildup to because they were off on some tangent.
Stanford has some nice pressure early, and one excellent chance, but the Huskies' size is definitely a factor.

Stanford's doing well turning defense-into-offense, but there's a lack of quality in central midfield. I wonder whether they can shift Baird more centrally, because he has very impressive quality creatively...

and of course he's subbed out, which seems like a strange move if it's tactical.Â

So I turn the game on just in time to see UW score twice in the space of about two minutes. :-[

Yeah, still don't understand why Gunn, the coach, took off Baird. Stanford's ability to generate offense went off the field with him. Very strange choice.
