I'll hang up and be proven wrong over the next few hours.

Wasted a 2nd-and-short with a running play to convert. I think a TE pass out of the jumbo would have been nice.Â

Another night with a 2013 gameplan and 2014 personnel. It was like the coaches didn't even watch the first half of last week's game.
- Kevin Hogan is NOT A POCKET PASSER. period, end of story
- Our OL and RBs are not effective at football in a phone booth
I really wish they would stop going to battle with the army they want and start going to battle with the army they have.

After the first half ended, I assumed our coaches would access and adjust. When the first play in the second half was a hand off to Seale off tackle, I knew we were toast.

That was inexplicable, wasn't it? Well, let's run the same play that has been stuffed all night, but maybe this different running back that really hasn't played all year will run it better.
Sorry martyup, I hate to say it but the Intellectual Brutality motto has a double entendre that was more appropriate to describe the playcalling last night.

Putting Seale in the game demonstrated either niavity or hubris.Â
Among the myriad problems plaguing the offense, one of them is a constant belief that if you just keep beating your head against the wall, eventually your head will break it down. In this case, the coaches have convinced themselves the OL is great, and based on the fact they've always had success in the past, they will have it again if they just stick to it. The OL isn't opening holes, so let's try our 3rd RB and 4th RB.
It's like having a car with an engine that won't run, and getting a new paint job as a solution to getting the engine working. Just Substitute the broken engine for the run blocking scheme and Seale for the paint job.Â

I think I'd go with option C,
stupidity.

Well, heading off the field at the half, Shaw said that we were getting "outcoached."Â The first play of the second half seemed to confirm that he didn't make adjustments to that problem.

There were adjustments. ASU was stuffing the run with run blitzes on first and second down in the first half. Stanford countered this by throwing bubble screens, running outside, roll outs, and throwing shorter passses to the tight ends in the second half.
