Could be worse -
BostonCard - 10-19-2014
Midway through the third quarter against Indianapolis, the division leading Cincinnati Bengals have 56 yards of offense, 2 first downs, and 0 points.
Luck is having himself another efficient day, but with the way the cinci offense Is playing, they don't really need him.

CBS couldn"t wait till the end to switch "to a more competitive game".
Re: Could be worse -

With about a minute left, cinci has 139 yards of total offense and still doesn't have a point to show.
If indi's defense can keep it up, they may go quite far. Cincinnati was 3-1-1 coming in.

After the concern expressed previously about Vontaze Burfict possibly injuring Andrew Luck with his dirty play, Burfict got himself Catoused.

I do hope Burfict is okay as concussions/neck impacts are always serious matters. He did do this to himself by lowering his helmet toward Luck.
I have this weird soft spot for Burfict despite his dirtiness. I read an article about his horrible childhood that made me thankful that he had football to pull him out of his situation.

And then there is our former coach.
Down 42-10 against the Broncos in the waning minutes of the 4th quarter.

You know how else it could be worse? Consider this mind-boggling stat about Florida's Will Muschamp. (Florida lost in absolutely preposterous fashion to Missouri, allowing less than 120 total yards, but giving up FOUR return touchdowns (interception, fumble, kickoff, and punt).
Okay, that's bad enough, but here's the mind-boggling stat.
In games that his team has held the opponent to less than 120 yards, Muschamp is 0-2.
In all other games in the past ten years in which a team has held its opponent to less than 120 yards, those teams are 94-0.
Yes, my friends, it could be worse.

Texas A&M - after starting the year with the most impressive performance of the first week at South Carolina winning 52-28, they have dropped the last three games.
Miss. St 52 - 31
Ole Miss 35 - 20
Alabama 59 - 0
Granted all of those teams are currently ranked in the top 5, but the last loss is clearly an indication that the team has raised the white flag. Being shutout is not something that happens in Sumlin's system. The score was 45 - 0 at half time!

Actually, what has been learned is that South Carolina is not good (see losses to Missouri and Kentucky and a close-ish win over Vandy), meaning that Texas A&M should never have been ranked highly. This is possibly the best example of SEC bias. A&M has ZERO good wins, nothing they've actually done this year is impressive. They're probably a top-50ish team. But because they and South Carolina were highly overrated to start the season, it means MissSt, Ole Miss, and Alabama must be top-5 teams. Beating A&M is about as impressive as beating UW...
Really though, the only "it could be worse" we have to look at is Derek Mason's miserable life in Vandy. Oof. At least they beat Charleston Southern...
