Well, my sister's uninhabitable Palo Alto house sold for more than that. It's problem wasn't rodents - fire.

And a house half a block from us in Menlo Park sold for $1.6 million six months ago and was promptly scraped. The house that's going in is waaay too big for the lot, it seems to me - and has only a one-car garage. I knew Palo Alto was allowing one-car garages with big houses, but I didn't know MP would.
