Gerhart\'s day to shine - Redrum - 11-28-2010
Scored his first NFL touchdown today for Vikings against Redskins. Â Last stat update 14 carries, 48 yds and 1 TD, Â Vikes up 17-13.
Apparently Vikes starter Adrian Peterson is hurt. Â Hope Gerhart can carry the ball and the day the rest of the way.
Vikes win 17-13, Toby the main man - Redrum - 11-28-2010
well, except for Favre.
"Favre finished 15 for 23 for 172 yards -- and for only the second game this season, he did not throw an interception. Gerhart, a second-round pick in April\'s draft, carried 22 times for a career-high 76 yards and a score; his NFL total was 86 yards rushing coming into this game.
"Is Toby an explosive player like Adrian? I don\'t think anyone is," Favre said. "But he\'s pretty darn good."

Peterson is an absolutely unique player. Â Toby is good, but Peterson is clearly one of a kind. Â Still, this situation is exactly why the Vikings drafted Toby. Â Injuries happen in the NFL.

Toby\'s career should be lengthened by getting to play counterpoint to Peterson.

some of the people on this board seem to be able to generate startling statistical reports at the lift of a finger. it would be great if someday someone put together a report of all NFL teams, showing for each one which players or coaching staff arrived there via stanford. It would show where in the NFL are significant stanford posses... Â I know by posting this the natural question is why I don\'t do it myself. I will mull that... but again, I think some on this board have football databases running through their veins.

There\'s this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stanford_Cardinal_football#Current_NFL_players. Â I just added Evan Moore to that page.
Doesn\'t help with the coaches/staff though.

Oh yeah. Yep, wikipedia does wind up answering 60% of questions anyone ever asks...
I would have thought more than 14 players in the NFL. I guess if, hypothetically, a harbaugh stayed at stanford for a while, that number would eventually climb.
