TV coverage today - doublespiral - 11-22-2014

Has anyone heard about a change to which channel Fox will use to broadcast the game today? I noticed that they were scheduled to show it starting at 1pm Pacific, however the Oklahoma vs. Kansas game that precedes it has been delayed 90 minutes due to lightning (scheduled to start at 10:30 Pacific last report I saw).

Since they likely won't break away unless it's a h.uge blowout, has anyone seen an announcement about an alternate channel for the start of our game? I'm working today and trying to set up a recording at home so as not to miss the first hour.

Thanks!

Re: TV coverage today - stupac2 - 11-22-2014

In my experience they move it to a different local affiliate, so your local station will tell you which it's on when it gets close to gametime.

Re: TV coverage today - Kirk72 - 11-22-2014

I have Comcast in San Jose and it is on my schedule for 1pm on Fox Sports 1.  Channel 731HD or 408 for me but your numbers may be different.

Re: TV coverage today - dabigv13 - 11-22-2014

Fox Sports 1 doesn't have local affiliates...it's a national channel.

I'm equally concerned about this, just tuned in to the Oklahoma - Kansas game to see what the deal is. Has anybody seen an announcement about an alternate? At least this has the potential to be a blowout, hopefully Oklahoma crushes early, but I'd rather know of an alternate channel.

Wait, is it on Fox or FS1? The OP just said Fox, and I'm going to the game so I haven't a clue what channel it's on.

If it's Fox then, like I said there will be some other channel for it (this nearly happened with a baseball game earlier this season, but the game ended just in time). If it's FS1 then one a few things will likely happen:

1) There will still be some other channel to find it on, and they'll tell you when it happens.
2) Depending on where you are in the US it'll either change over or it won't, and if you're in the wrong spot you're just screwed.
3) They'll stay with the early game and direct you to the internet to watch this one.

Not really any way to tell ahead of time which it'll be, but check the reddit gamethread for some streams if everything fails.

Re: TV coverage today - dabigv13 - 11-22-2014

It's FS1.

I resurrected my old twitter account, which had previously been used for pumping up Toby for Voldemort, to tweet at FS1's twitter handle and try and get an answer. They haven't responded to me, but the FS1 twitter handle did have this announcement-

"Nebraska-Omaha vs. Marquette scheduled for 2:30pm ET on FOX Sports 2 will now air on #FOXSportsGO only"

So it seems like they're setting up to use the (non-HD) FS2 channel for either the Stanford-Cal game or the Kansas-Oklahoma game in the overlap period. I'm guessin they won't make the call about which game to show until right before, probably depending on how compelling this game is. Go Sooners (shudder)?

Re: TV coverage today - dabigv13 - 11-22-2014

This OK-Kansas game is very disturbing....the creepy announcers keep commenting on the physique of some fans without their shirts on. It would really be better for everyone involved if they just cut to a Stanford-Cal pregame show.

Re: TV coverage today - dabigv13 - 11-22-2014

The game is starting on FS2. Super lame.

Re: TV coverage today - doublespiral - 11-22-2014

Sorry for any confusion, stupac, I was just referring to Fox generically - figuring that the game would be switched to another channel within their family. If it is FS2, then I'm out of luck. That's not part of my package.

Re: TV coverage today - TreeWeird - 11-22-2014

I would hope they would also stream on FoxSports Go so those of us who get FS1 but FS2 can at least watch online.

Re: TV coverage today - dabigv13 - 11-22-2014

At least on TWC, I dont have FS2 in HD. Do other packages have it in HD?

Re: TV coverage today - 82 Card - 11-22-2014

What number is FS2 on Comcast?

Re: TV coverage today - 81alum - 11-22-2014

On Fox Sports 1 they say to go online to find the channel for Fox Sport 2 which will have the big game.  But I can't find any information on there being a Fox Sports 2 on Bay Area Comcast.

Re: TV coverage today - 81alum - 11-22-2014

In fact, when I get to Fox Sports 1 online it says "click here to tell your provider to carry Fox Sports 2."

It seems I don't get it, and so the Big Game is not being carried in the Bay Area?

If anyone gets to the bottom of this, please post.

Re: TV coverage today - scorecard - 11-22-2014

Posted in other thread, but just in case:

I don't get that channel on the Comcast TV lineup where I live, but looks like I can watch it online at:

http://www.foxsports.com/foxsportsgo/

Hope that helps someone!

Re: TV coverage today - Kathy - 11-22-2014

The OU-KU game is a blowout anyway, 41-6 OU, but some Sooner is setting a Big 12 rushing record and that's why it's still on, I guess. Just one more reason why I hate all things Jayhawk.  >:(

Re: TV coverage today - george - 11-22-2014

Hilariously it appears to be on Fox Sports Deportes.  So if you don't mind getting the play-by-play and color commentary in espanol, you can tune in right now to see the game.

Yes, thanks!  I can get that.  The TV situation is an embarrassment, though.

Re: TV coverage today - CompSci87 - 11-22-2014

I finally got fox sports go working (game was grayed out at first) and we are up 7-0 already. What happened?

Re: TV coverage today - 82 Card - 11-22-2014

Comcast Go works for me. Resolution is poor but at least I can follow the game. Got it figured out just in time to see Stanford take two tries to punch the ball into the end zone.
