Kal cougs it in the No Defense Whatsoever Bowl - Redrum - 11-29-2014
First and goal inside BYU's 10yd. line. Penalty out to the 11. With 4 downs. No joy. Lose 42-35.

No, they Ca.l'd it, or were Ca.l'd if you prefer. They have enough ability to create their own misery and terms to describe however it manifests. They don't need to borrow anyone else's.

I feel a bit sorry for them.
Did I just say that out loud?

Wait a minute! Who ARE you? - Redrum - 11-29-2014
And what have you done with Boston Card?
Kal's failure to go ten yards to tie, while not a surprise exactly, was definitely out of tune with the performance of both teams up till then. This game was characterized with lots of offense and being able to move the ball and retain possession. Sometimes in big chunks. The lead changed hands, with equalizers coming along regularly. Why that final ten yard chunk was impossible in this game of all games is just a mystery...well, except for that whole Kal thing.

I am not sure that is a bad thing for Dykes. This way the kids have more time to prepare for exams.

Yeah, shortly after writing that I pulled my groin. I'm sure it was unrelated, but just in case, I will go back to reveling in the Bears misery.

"TypiKAL"
That's the word Tyler Frederickson, a former Kal kicker, said they used when bad things always seemed to happen to their team.

I was there in person today, as my BYU alum father came to visit me for the game, and the schadenfreude was almost as satisfying to me as the happiness i felt because of BYU's win. To see everyone around us deflate from the intense excitement of having 1st and goal with 30 seconds after marching down the field to... Season Over was priceless. And speaking of things deflating, the giant bear head was punctured as they moved it into place for the team to run through. By the time they came out, it was off to the side as an amorphous blob with ears. It was a delightful image.
I do wish it could wake me from the nightmare in which BYU's little brother follows me to the PAC 12 and beats us twice in a row...
Also, fun fact: after today's game, Cal's defense has surrendered both more passing yards and more passing touchdowns than any team in FBS history. Lol.

Stills, gifs, videos. MUST HAVE PICTURES! They have
got to be out there somewhere.
And good on you, for bringing to us this cosmic metaphor that proves even the universe hates Kal.

Speaking of no defense, was that also the Iron Bowl last night? A score of 55-44 is not a typical ess-ee-cee defensive game...
Well, Nick Saban said afterwards... - Redrum - 11-30-2014
that the first half, when Auburn did the bulk of the their scoring was the
worst half of football the team had ever played. On the scoreboard Auburn 26 vs. Alabama 21, but although Alabama's defense looked like it was getting shredded (and was) by Auburn's ground game and passing, three of its scores in the first half were field goals.Â
Saban said the second half was one of Alabama's
best halves in his tenure : Alabama 34 vs. Auburn 18. Their stud WR Amari Cooper was the key. The only analogy for recent meaningful individual contribution in a Stanford context I can make was Ertz's contributions to our win in Eugene. Making plays, although Cooper broke free for more spectacular RACs. Or, in a team context, maybe the Orange Bowl vs. Va. Tech.Â
So more scoring than we've seen in a Bama game against a credible SEC opponent. But...a hell of a game.Â
