Preview of the All Pac 12 team? - Hulk01 - 12-02-2014

All Pax 12 team gets announced in a few hours.

Just want to put my bets out and see how close it gets.

QB: Marcus Mariota Oregon
Cody Kessler, USC

RB: Javorius Allen, USC and Nick Wilson, Arizona
Devonte Booker, Utah, and Royce Freeman, Oregon, second team

WR: Jaelen Strong, ASU, Nelson Agholor, USC
Vince Mayle, WSU and Spruce from Colorado, second team

TE: Pharaoh Brown, Oregon
Connor Hamlett, OSU

OL: Andrus Peat, Stanford; Jake Fisher; Oregon; Hroniss Grasu, Oregon; Jamil Douglas, ASU: and Max Tuerk USC;
second team includes Christian Westerman, ASU; Kyle Murphy, Stanford; and Jake Brendel, UCLA
Punter: Tom Hackett, Utah. Landslide.

DL: Leonard Williams, USC; Danny Shelton, Washington; Nate Orchard, Utah; and David Parry, Stanford, assuming a 4-3.  If a 3-4, Parry seems likelier than Orchard to fall to second team because Shelton will be their first choice at the nose.
Henry Anderson, second team

LB:
Shaq Thompson, Washington; Scooby Wright, Arizona; and Ha’loi Kikaha, Washington; and Eric Kendricks, UCLA, if the coaches opt for a 3-4 or they name Kikaha as a DL, likely in place of Orchard.
A.J, Tarpley, second team

CB: Marcus Peters, Washington; Ifo Ekpre Olumu, Oregon gets the second spot for lifetime achievement but the coaches have a record for punishing stars who coast in their final season (e.g, Robey and McDonald at USC).  if so, Tony Hill (Oregon) or Alex Carter (us) could take this spot
S:  Sua Cravens, USC; Jordan Richards, Stanford

Stanford honorable mentions: Joshua Garnett, Devon Cajuste, Austin Hooper (if he fails to make second team), Lee Ward, Kevin Anderson, Blake Martinez, James Vaughters, Zach Hoffpauir, and Christian McCaffrey (ST).

Couple thoughts:

Oregon’s offense gets routed by graduation:Mariota, Fisher, Grasu, and Brown, plus starter Keanon Lowe and HM OL Hrmani Stevens.

Washington’s defense suffers even more: First teamers Shelton, Kikaha, Thompson, and Peters, and their other DL is a strong candidate for second team honors.

You have Agholor as both a first and second teamer.  You didn't list a kicker or kickoff returner.

BTW, here is Wilner's vote.  Other than flagging him for 12 men on the field on offense and the highly effective (penalty drawing) 4-4 nickel alignment, it seems reasonable, with a fair bit of overlap with yours.

Will be interesting if Sua Cravens makes the All Pac 12 team as a safety (Hulk) or DB (Wilner) as he has been playing at linebacker since about the third game of the season or so.

That certainly doesn't mean it won't happen the way these things tend to go.
