Good news/bad news re: Good Post/Bad Post feature - admin - 12-02-2014

As you may have noticed the up and down voting arrows are no longer on our site. This is because the Good Post/Bad Post modification that we have been using is not compatible with the latest version of the forum software, which we installed yesterday evening.

I attempted several workarounds, and they did not work.

The good news is that the ability to like and dislike content is being added to the next version of the forum software, so add-on modifications will no longer be necessary. That software is in its first beta. Judging by how long the previous versions took, I would anticipate an upgrade at the end of the academic year.

For now, if you want to alert the moderators to spam or trolls, please use the Alert Moderator feature at the corner of each post.

And, until the next release, we all have impeccable reputations!  :)

I think we can live without it.

The good news for me is I can now misspell with impunity.

One of the other new features in the next release is the ability to save a post as a draft. This should help
• those who write long posts,
• those who want to vent after a loss while still taking advantage of a cooling off period, and
• those who want to correct their spelling and grammar.

:)

Good!  Posts critical of Hogan or Shaw usually got thumbs down because it isn't what some want to hear.

Applaud/smite is back? I thought that feature had been, uh, smitten by consensus last time it was tried.

They're eligible to be traded for bitcoin, dogecoin, or roubles.

A lot of posts critical of Hogan or Shaw got thumbs down because they were unsubstantiated knee jerk reactions.
