So THIS is why some didn't want Chicken Bowl - Redrum - 12-08-2014
Dr. Saturday /Graham Watson rank the 32 bowl games for Yahoo Sports.
http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/ncaaf-dr-saturday/ranking-the-bowls-1-38--excluding-the-national-championship-233337590.html
The Foster Farms Bowl comes in at....(drum roll) #27! Guess it beats staying home and explaining to friends and relatives why you're sitting with them rather than playing in a bowl game...but...
Anyway, bowl games rated above us are:
20 Idaho Potato Bowl, Boise, Air Force v. W. Michigan
21 Bahamas Bowl, Nassau, Central Michigan v. Western Ky.
22 Independence Bowl, Shreveport, LA, (aww c'mon) Miami v. S. Carolina
23 St. Petersburg Bowl, so bad they didn't have a sponsor, U. Central Florida v. NC St.
24 New Mexico Bowl, Albuquerque, Utah St. v. UTEP (usually so poorly attended it was known as the pick-your-own-seat-when-you-arrive bowl)
25 Birmingham Bowl, scheduled in a city where main university just this week dropped its football program, East Carolina v. Florida.
26 Poinsettia Bowl, San Diego, Navy v. San Diego St.
And then... with the accompanying comment
27. Foster Farms Bowl (Dec. 30, Santa Clara, Calif.):
Maryland vs. Stanford
Quote:This is not a good game. No way to sugarcoat it, its simply not a good game. Maryland is not good enough on offense to compete with the Stanford defense and Stanford is only just OK enough on offense to make this game interesting. Its a good thing there are other viewing options on this day.
Well, he picked us...sort of. So we've got that going for us...

LOOK...how little I care about their rankings.
(To be clear, directed at Yahoo.)
Hey! I resemble that remark! - Redrum - 12-08-2014
My fear is that the Yahoo logic and conclusion morphs into a college football meme.Â

Couldn't the swag bag at least include some chicken parts? I guess it already does include chicken lips.

They also get a gift suite, and we don't know what's available in the suite. Some bowls don't have suites.

Last year the Fight Hunger San Francisco Bowl did not have a gift suite.Â

I guess the chicken industry's doing better than the almond industry.
