If true, Stanford men's soccer will be absolutely dominant next year. Can't wait.

Great news. Of course, being dominant in soccer means we'll have a 51% chance of winning each game. :)

Awesome news. It would have been on par with the Lopez brothers declaring they were coming back for another season.

Wait -- Morris is bringing a twin back with him? The intrigue!

Little bigger, I think. The Lopi's presence (or absence) wouldn't have made the difference between a national championship-type team...whereas Jordan Morris + the Stanford returnees + the incoming recruiting class seems, at least intuitively, to be the basis of a national championship contender.

Daily article on his return
Jordan Morris announces return to Stanford for junior season
Quote:Here I am provided the unique opportunity to both play the game I love and learn at one of the worlds great universities, Morris said in the statement. Playing professionally is a dream of mine and I feel that Stanford will prepare me extremely well to realize that goal, but also for life after soccer. I am fortunate to have the opportunity to represent this university both on and off the field and look forward to working with my teammates to make our 2015 season a success.
Really bummed -

A friendly acquaintance of mine with strong Stanford ties has a son who is a superb soccer player. He was pointed at Stanford for a long time, was a door #1 casualty. Very unfortunate. Great kid, great family, great soccer player. At least he'll be playing for my favorite team.

That's good, since Keira Knightly has probably used up her eligibility for the women's team.

This quote about Morris by USMNT technical advisor, Berti Vogts stood out:
"He's a good player," Vogts said. "Wow. I cannot understand why he's playing in college."

It's a strange comment, since while Morris is good he's not that dominant for Stanford.
