Who is Visiting for the Big Weekend? -
Durty Nelly - 01-15-2015
Does someone know the list of recruits visiting for the Big Weekend?
I saw tweets from Mustafa Branch. Wes Annan, Ross Donelly, Bryce Love. and Jordan Fox about their visits.

LB Jordan Fox, New Jersey (from Wilkes' school, btw)
DE Gabe Reid, Utah (LDS, so won't play before 2017)
RB Bryce Love, North Carolina (#6 ranked RB nationally, by one account)
DE Anree Saint-Amour, Georgia (We've been his dream school since 9th grade)
NT Ross Donnelly, Texas (from Cameron Flemings HS (Cy-Creek of Houston) btw)
S Justin Reid, Louisiana (LSU offer; a favorite of mine in this class)
CB Quenton Meeks, San Diego CA (the big (6-2) CB we'd like to land for matchup reasons)
DE Dylan Jackson, Tennessee (Maryville, a state superpower), another LSU offeree and former Tennessee commit. visited this fall and won't be springing for the trip. I will be startled if he does not sign with us.
These are visitors who have yet to commit. All or almost all of our committed guys will be visiting, with the only exceptions likely the few who already took their official visit with us and would have to pay their own way for this visit.
I expect us to sweep the list, barring an admissions casualty--but admissions is likely to sound the alarm before these guys board their planes. There is some worry about one of the recruits above, and always some angst about anyone until there is official word, of course.
Jackson, Donnelly, and Saint-Amour may be the key guys because we took only two DLs last year (Thomas and Phillips) and have only one DL commit (NT Wesley Annan) so far this year. Gabe Reid might have the frame to bulk up and play DE, however, and is a helluva pass rusher, so he's worth tracking, imo.

That's a bit misleading - Rivals has him as the #6 all-purpose back, but there are also 12 running backs ahead of him, making him the 18th ranked nationally by them.

Does Stanford still have a flicker of hope with Iman Marshall?Â

Our consolation in not getting Iman Marshall is that he will be only play for three years for USC. A phenomenal-looking DB.

ESPN has the following attending this weekend.
Bryce Love *
Nick Wilson (committed)*
Reagan Williams (committed)*
Jordan Fox*
Anree Saint-Amour*
Austin Maihen (committed)*
J.J. Arcega-Whiteside (committed)*
Ross Donelly *
Frank Buncom IV *
Brian Chaffin (committed) *
Mustafa Branch (committed)*
Justin Reid *
Casey Toohill (committed)*
Gabe Reid *
Jake Bailey (committed)
Wesley Annan (committed)*
Jack Dreyer (committed)*
Bryce Love (unofficial visit) +
Quentin Meeks +
TJ Green +
Charlie Beall+
So that is 17 visiting on official visits, with 7 of them uncommitted at this time, plus 3 commits that visited together in October (Irwin, Edwards and Scarlett) according to ESPN
If the coaches sweep this list and all of them are admitted then it could be a stellar 20 person class. If not all of them are admitted or do not commit, it still shapes up well. With the current 14 commits ESPN has LSJU ranked 38th overall and 7th in the PAC, the team slid one spot when Farrar decommitting.
Key:
* = On the ESPN list and Scout list Spiny posted
+ = On Scout list not on ESPN
x = On ESPN not Scout
(EDIT: I edited my list after Spiny posted)

We have 21 visitors. 12 of 14 scholie commits as two have already been on their officials.Â
We have 9 uncommitted visiting, 3 have been accepted. One of the 9, Green maybe a walk on
Therefore on dad Trent Green's and mom's dime.Â
Should have lots if admissions news this weekend

Wow!!! Malik Jefferson and Christian Wilkens are both visiting. Landing them or even one of them would take a good recruiting class to an exceptional one.

Visiting Stanford? Wilkins went on his OV months ago. Are you suggesting he flew from CT to CA on his own dime this weekend? Where is the report to validate this?
Malik Jefferson reportedly dropped Stanford a month ago. Where is the report to validate him on a Stanford OV?

Wilkins committed to Clemson several weeks ago. It's not a fit.

You misread it. It shows the two visiting Stanford at earlier dates.

My bad. The type on the dates is hard for me to make out with my color blindness. I did not even see they were there when I first looked at it.

The link says they went on official visits to Stanford a couple of months ago. They've both committed elsewhere since.

To be honest, the dates are there, but if this is supposed to be a list of actual attendees to the Big Weekend, it's a pretty lazy and/or irresponsible piece of information. If the list was made some time ago, they should look at it carefully before posting. If it was made recently (and the inclusion of a few of the names makes me think it was), then it's simply bad work. They are either intentionally, and sensationally trumpeting students who will not be coming here, and thus raising hopes and spreading confusion; or they are not even following the announcements in their own organization. This kind of thing is why I don't read Scout anymore.
Now, if somehow these guys really ARE here, please disregard the rant. And I will start looking at Scout again. But I think there is little danger of that.

Of course, the downside to that is that they'll have two years with Marshall at one corner and Adoree' Jackson at the other.
