Whitfield has been prepping Jameis Winston and Bryce Petty for the NFL draft in Southern Çal. Perhaps they took a road trip to Palo Alto for a visit with the Stanford staff?  Whitfield has a connection with Stanford of course.

Is he related to our Whitfields?

Did he play for our Arena Team?  :)  Wonder what the conection is?

Silly geese, it's obvious what's going on - Redrum - 03-14-2015

Winston is trying to go back in time to recreate the moment he decided that Stanford academics were too intimidating and while in Palo Alto he had sensed a vague disturbance in the force that maybe the Boys-will-be-boys ethic might be weakening on Stanford's campus.  Also, as a serious student of science, he wanted to test the theory that if he had surrounded himself with students and teammates of Stanford caliber,  he never would have rap...er, had consensual sex with that girl and certainly would have purchased those crab legs rather than try to shoplift them.

With apologies to Frost:

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I wish I had taken the one less traveled by,
Because that would have made all the difference.

Harb's photo op with the two QBs was widely distributed to Michigan recruits.  Nice countermove by Shaw.

Interesting.  When I was a very young man, and based largely on my feminist mother's opinions on the subject and the fact that I had three younger sisters, I would have believed 100% of women in this position 100% of the time.  Thirty years later, I've developed a very cynical shell about these circumstances, based upon 1/2 dozen incidents I've seen over the years.  So I wouldn't comment on Winston or anyone else in those circumstances.

I think you are absolutely correct.  I want the victims of sexual violence to be supported and perpetrators punished severely.  But I really want to adhere to the rule of law and not fall into a mob mentality.  Those are pretty trite statements, but I've learned that I just cannot get enough verifiable information through the media to sort out the truth of any given situation.

Actually, that last aspect of my comment about the conflicting data in the media applies to most issues in the news these days.

Along those lines... - Mick - 03-16-2015

The San Jose Mercury News sportswriters were hectoring the San Francisco 49ers management (of whom, believe me, I am no fan) for allowing Ray McDonald to play in the midst of a rape investigation as Niner management cited "due process."  Multiple page one stories, multiple citations by Kawakami, Purdy and the rest.  Police chose not to press charges.  The Niners then dumped McDonald when he was accused of rape.

McDonald has stated that he has a home surveillance system in which the tapes clearly indicate the sex was consensual.  Now he can't get a job in the NFL.  So he's suing the woman who accused him of rape.

I should mention that I do work with a very prominent family law attorney, perhaps the most prominent in his state.  He works with several professional sports teams and he basically tells the players to treat themselves as prey for the unbelievable ways that people try to suck money out of them...male and female.
