Only at Stanford [well, I should probably add Georgia Tech before Jacketree sees] would you get highlight video of your fullback.

That was efffing fabulous! - Redrum - 04-30-2015
We are going to
miss that guy.
But what was really great about that highlight reel is we get to watch football like players and coaches look at a football play.
As spectators we naturally follow the ball in the play...to the detriment of seeing how the play actually works. This was a fullback highlight film, but similar ones could be put together for each position. In this video we got to focus on the FB and his role in the play... and not so much on the ball. Sometimes Ward was the key to making the play, other times he was just doing his job taking on his man far from where the play was going. It's obvious, though, that Ward loves contact, loves to take on his man.Â
I'm going to watch it again...and maybe again after that. Would love to see the same with OL.

Wow, that was a thing of beauty!

Agree Redrum. There were a bunch of plays where Ward pushed his man 10 yards back and then pancaked him, but when I looked at the play, it only gained a couple yards. But man, what a thing of beauty it was to watch Ward put his body on someone and push him back (another thing I loved about Ward was that he kept it going until the whistle was blown.

Losing Ward is going to be a bigger problem to the offense than previous posts about the 2015 offense seem to indicate. There is no one else around who has shown they can take on that role - and that would include Skov had he stayed.
I take solace that as good as Ward was at his job, he was in for less than half of our offensive plays last year.

That was amazing. Reminds me of Tom Rathman when he came to the Niners.
