Three UW first-rounders - washingtonismoney - 04-30-2015

Did...Petersen underachieve last year?

Re: Three UW first-rounders - 82lsju - 04-30-2015

maybe only 2.5 since Peters was kicked off the team mid-season

Re: Three UW first-rounders - French Rage - 04-30-2015

It might be just be the lingering Sark stink.

And DE/OLB Kikaha will probably be drafted today.

I think Petersen was making a statement in his first year that he was going to be a disciplinarian, and he wasn't going to put up with any BS.
That may have cost him a couple of wins, but I think it will pay off in the long term.

9 of the 32 first rounders from the Pac12 ain't bad. Shows how tough the league was this year. the SEC had 8 despite having 2 more teams.

Re: Big Stanford miss - Bruce Wang - 05-01-2015

Caught a bit of the draft last night.  For me the highlight was Laken Tomlinson's interview. Seems like a terrific kid.  Like a Stanford player.  That was a big miss for us.  We did offer him.  Does anybody remember how we lost him to Duke?  He came across as more than intelligent enough to get past admissions.

Re: Three UW first-rounders - OutsiderFan - 05-01-2015

This is quite telling...

On I believe NFLN, IIRC, Mayock was talking about Marcus Peters.  He said NFL teams asked current UW coaches about Peters and they panned him.  Then he said NFL teams talked to Sarkisian and he had nothing but great things to say about Peters.  The Chiefs listened to the snake oil salesman and got comfortable enough to pick him.

If you can play, someone in the NFL will always take a chance on you, gambling that any character issues can be resolved.

Speaking of underachievers, here's a stat:

Normally, length/character limited messages a GOOD thing - Redrum - 05-01-2015

"And only 2 schools are within 20"  kinda pushes the envelope into WTF territory.

Re: Three UW first-rounders - Papa John - 05-01-2015

Bonagura's text refers to the number of U-S-C first-round draft picks since 1967, which comes out to 68. That's 10 more than any other school, and only 2 are within 20.

So maybe WTF would have been preferable, since I don't see how U-S-C's performance since 1967 could be construed as underachieving.

Was referring specifically to this year, in which SC had two first-round picks -- plus a more-than-competent QB in Kessler -- and went all of 9-4.

Re: Three UW first-rounders - fullmetal - 05-01-2015

I guess the rest of that squad must have been full of weak links.
