Women's and Men's Tennis: Singles and Doubles Championships ongoing - Papa John - 05-22-2015
Not sure if anyone has posted on this, but Stanford has/had representation in both the women's and men's individual and doubles tennis tournaments this week.
Still alive on the women's singles side: Carol Zhao has taken her first two matches in straights sets (no surprise) to advance to a round of 16 match against a player from C.al.
Eliminated: Caroline Doyle won her opening round match but lost to a player from UCLA in the round of 32. Taylor Davidson lost her opening round match to a player from UVa.
Still alive on the women's doubles side: Taylor Davidson/Carol Zhao took their opening round match and will face a pair from UNC in the round of 32.
Eliminated: Caroline Doyle/Ellen Tsay lost their first round match to a pair from Tennessee.
Eliminated on the men's side: Tom Fawcett lost his opening-round single's match to a player from Wake Forest, and John Morrissey/Robert Stineman lost their opening-round double's match to a pair from Auburn.
Congratulations to all of the Cardinal participants, but now our hopes are riding on Carol Zhao and Taylor Davidson. Go Stanford!

Hit "post" too soon. Carol Zhao just defeated C.al's Zsofi Susanyi 6-2, 6-0 in the singles round of 16. On to the quarterfinals!

Doyle/Tsay actually won their first match, that was an error on the NCAA site. They play the Be.ar's #1 team today at noon.
Doyle's singles loss was to the #1 seeded player in the field.

Doyle and Tsay are playing the top seeded doubles team from Alabama now in the semis. Davidson/Zhao lost yesterday in the quarters.
