Women's World Cup -

1) I still think parity is a way's away.
2) Still pissed about the artificial turf.
3) Women's games aren't called near tightly enough. Skilled and beautiful soccer suffers because the officials allow mauling to occur all too frequently.

But then again, Stanford has at least one representative: Christen Press, of the US.

Parity is unlikely to occur as long as each association can get Cup representation. Too many associations have countries that discourage or even prohibit women from playing in sports. Hard to believe teams from CAF or even most of AFC will be able to compete with USA & Germany given the differences on the focus on sports, the focus on women in sports, economic resources and overall population.
The artificial turf was a big mistake, and illustrates that FIFA really doesn't care much about the women's game. (The men's game pays the bills and bribes after all).

Not just A goal, but THE game winner. Made it look easy, but placed it right where the GK had no chance.

The Australian goalkeeper looks very sloth-like in that clip. Great take though.

I liked that goal, not so much because of the goal itself, but because of how well it was set up.
