247's crystal ball -
TrumpCard - 07-29-2015
The crystal ball might be more worth watching than I previously thought. The predictions often come after I already have a pretty good idea whether the recruit wants to go to Stanford. The thing that I tend to notice is who is not the subject of many predictions because that suggests that the recruit has not made public statements favoring certain schools. (There aren't too many predictions that go way out on a limb without support in the recruit's expressed intentions.)Â
It's tough to know the reason that a kid is tight lipped (and thus isn't the subject of many predictions). Stanford certainly loses its share of those recruitments, such as Devery Hamilton's. But it is worth noting that some Stanford recruits are tight-lipped because they are waiting on admissions. That gives me some reason for hope with Jeff McCulloch, even though he hasn't visited the campus yet. McCulloch is as inscrutable as they come. The only thing we know is that he's a great student and wants a school that's known for academic excellence. Well, we also know that he's a heck of a football player who Stanford could really use.
