WVB: Pre-season poll - BostonCard - 08-11-2015

We were picked (unanimously) to finish first... despite the fact that we will sadly be without Inky this season.  Any ideas of where we fit in nationally?  I think the pre-seasonAVCA poll comes out tomorrow.

Why no Inky?  Is she training with the national team? injured?

Inky Ajanaku was injured on June 9 while playing for the U.S. National team at Pan Am Cup in Peru.

Hayley Hodson is supposed to be a true phenom and difference maker. Hopefully she can have the same kind of impact as Logan Tom and Kerri Walsh.

Thanks Bob.  Two follow-ups.  Is Penn State so far ahead of the field that it is a situation analogous to UConn then everyone else, or do you think we have a realistic shot at dethoning them.  And, how did the loss of Inky impact your answer.

With Inky we would be # 1 but Penn State a close 2

We have 3 frosh trying to replace Inky who plans to play next year as a 5th year player

Since so little WVB talk her not sure if people know that Adam Keefe-Kristen Klein's twin daughters will be frosh on the team in 2016

Thanks Bob.  Assuming she gets back from injury next year, and Hodson is as good as advertised, is there any reason that we would not be the prohibitive favorites in 2016?  Of course, I want to win it all this year.

Thanks for the info on the Keefe/Klein twins.  Talk about getting some good genes.  Hopefully they are as good as Cristian McCaffrey (another kid with good genes).
