"The rival I most looking forward to playing is USC because they pretty much told me to my face that I couldn't play Division I football."

Quote:"I remember wanting to go to Stanford when they played with Andrew Luck in their black uniforms my freshman year (2011 vs. UCLA). The commentators were talking about how smart Stanford's players were, and that was so different from what I was used to growing up watching SEC games in the South."

Well then.

I love a kid who comes in with a little chip on his shoulder.  From reading the entire post, sounds like he knows how to channel that anger properly.

Maybe Meeks made clear he wanted to play at USC, or at least wanted an offer, and was told he wasn't good enough?  All things being equal, I'd rather not have Stanford recruiting guys USC doesn't want, but there is a big difference between USC not offering a scholarship, and being unable to play D1A football.

Some guys turn out to be better than expected because they are willing to work harder.  Obviously if Meeks made it into Stanford, he works hard.  Hopefully he'll make a game winning play or more against USC in his Stanford career.

With any luck he'll be able to play one of those SEC teams he watched while growing up - in the CFB playoffs :)
