Shaw gives Hogan a "B" for his performance against Northwestern. I would hate to see Hogan's C or D game. He did have some dropped balls and poor protection at times, but I don't know about a B. I guess his ND game last year was worse.

Yeah, I didn't see that as a "B" level play, even when making allowances for dropped balls.  He did have worse games (in addition to UDFG, the Utah game last year was pretty bad).

But again, I wouldn't take anything that Shaw says in public as a reflection of what he truly believes.

If he says "C" then the "let's bring in the backups" chant gets louder.

If he says "C" then he's implying he's virtually unfixable.  By saying "B" he's implying that some tweaks and hard work are all that is needed.
