Cycle of suckage - yvonne - 12-28-2010

1. Every time we get a good coach, he leaves.
2. Then we follow it up with a coach who sucks and we play awful football.
3. Fans leave in droves.
4. Then we get an up and coming coach who both fans and the media know will leave.
5. We achieve a modicum of success for 1-2 years.
6. Fans don\'t show up because they know success will be short-lived.
7. The media reports on what awful fans we are for not showing up, and how any coach with any sense would leave such awful fans.
8. The coach, having sense, leaves. We get a crummy coach, play awful football, and fans leave.
9. The media talk about how awful our football team is and how no one with any sense would follow such a team.
10. We fire the coach and take a chance on another up an coming coach, who either continues the suckage, or leads us back to step 1.

This could be a flowchart on EDSBS. :)

As to your second #6; this will baffle me until the day I die.  Casual fans can\'t just watch a good game for $12 without fear of becoming emotionally invested?  Why can\'t we even get short-lived bandwagon fans?

Sorry \'bout that. As you might guess, I added  a couple of items, and uploaded before renumbering.

I was thinking about making a flowchart, but couldn\'t find good software to make it.
