What you CAN and CANNOT take into stadium - Redrum - 12-28-2010
Damn! I guess my wife will have to smuggle in our gerbils in her bra.
Again. I mean, at the Van Gogh exhibit, yeah. I can see why
some people might consider gerbils "inappropriate." But in an open air stadium? Jeez, people. We\'re great big adults here.
From the Sun Life Stadium website:
To avoid delays at the Gate, and for the safety of our Guests, the following items are prohibited:
   * Animals (Except for certified animals assisting disabled guests.)
   * Alcoholic beverages

   * Bottles, Cans, Thermoses, Coolers, Hard Containers
   * Food
   * Umbrellas, Poles, Brooms
   * Strollers (Permitted in Suites only. Strollers must enter Gates C, G or E)
   * Cameras with lenses exceeding 8
   * Noise makers, laser pointers and any other item deemed dangerous or inappropriate
   * Weapons of any kind (Firearms, Knives, Pocket Knives)
Allowable Items:

   * Binoculars and binocular cases. Cases must not exceed 14 in. x 14 in. x 8 in. in size.

   * Stadium Merchandise - Stadium merchandise is permitted in soft-sided bags not exceeding 14 in. x 14 in. x 8 in. in size.
   * Football helmets are allowed.
Comment: This hardly seems fair. They go and ban poles, umbrellas and brooms, but then they go and let the Hokie bastard you want to thump wear a football helmet. Where\'s the fun in that?
Other Important Information To Know:

   * No re-entry allowed without a stadium-issued re-entry pass.
Banners & Signs:
Guests are welcome to display hand-held banners or signs in the Stadium during events provided they are in good taste and do not:

The banners or signs may not be affixed or hung anywhere in the facility or displayed in a manner which will obstruct any guest\'s view of an event, cause a disturbance among other guests or cover any Stadium signage. Have there been incidents of strippers and witches causing trouble at football games in Miami?
Or is this just to force you to patronize the strippers/witches at the stadium instead of bringing your own?

But the good news is that my flame thrower is not specifically prohibited and neither are funnelation materials

Quote:That ban on umbrellas is pretty irritating to a lot of people. This is Florida. It rains.
Not having a ban on umbrellas is pretty annoying too.  Especially when the person in the row in front of you decides to open their umbrella, dumping water on you and blocking your view.  Get a damn rain jacket if you\'re going to a football game  ;)

Good luck with that.

Good thing JH can bring his Luck and related Weapons onto the field! Â ;D
Re: What you CAN and CANNOT take into stadium - Pastor - 12-29-2010
My flame thrower is not a weapon, it is a very convenient way to light multiple cigars at one time. Â Hey, even a shapened-edge credit card could be called a weapon....as could Garvin\'s wit....nah, perhaps that\'s too dull.

That\'s exactly right, Chimp. Dress for the damned weather!

Might be able to tell I had a frustrating experience at a certain poor weather home game this year :)

Bummer about the food restrictions. Â I love bringing dutch crunch from the Village Cheese House into home games. Â Yum!

Quote:Try wearing a rain jacket when it\'s 80 degrees. Rainy weather in Florida does not necessarily that of Northern California. (I\'m hoping we have neither rain nor 80-degree temps Monday.)
The forecast calls for no rain and temps in the high 70s. Â But it is South Florida, so a quick rain shower or two is always possible.
BTW - Heard of a poncho?
