Georgia Tech has respectable engineering programs...but if you had to pick between a full-ride to Stanford or a full-ride to Georgia Tech, most people are going to choose the former.  So I guess he wanted to play ball at Georgia Tech more so than he did at Stanford.  Good luck to him...
